Visualizing a guided approach to the adventure of community college.

In 2019, Pasadena City College adopted a new approach to academics, the Guided Pathways model, which aims to increase completion rates, reduce completion time and increase equity among students.

The challenge? Not many students knew what it was.

In partnership with motion designer and producer, Jack Harrison, I conceptualized and developed a series of adventure-themed, animated explainer videos for the college, promoting the new program to students and faculty in a way unique to PCC.

PROCESS
From script to final render.

PCC's goal to generate excitement within students and faculty was central to shaping the creative for this series.

Using the nearby San Gabriel mountain range as inspiration, we imagined a student's college experience as an outdoor adventure, weaving this metaphor into the script, visual concept, and final designs.

The initial video was so well received that we extended the metaphor into subsequent videos in the series.
