Branding a uniquely Delta College student portal.

In May 2018, Delta College launched a new website, giving it its first new look in over a decade.

Drawing inspiration from the San Joaquin River Valley, I designed a logomark for the school's new student portal myDelta.

Less is more.

Sometimes, you have to pivot.

Early drafts for San Joaquin River Valley's myDelta portal featured the landscape's unique web of waterways, but it failed to maintain clarity and recognition across formats.

Simplifying the map to its simplest form made for a more powerful mark, and the "logo" story was later animated into a unique and meaningful logo motion graphic.
